Bergbahnen Fieberbrunn: Successful Crowdfunding For The New Streubodenbahn

At the beginning of April, the Fieberbrunn mountain railways not only ended a successful winter season, but also a 33-year era: after over 23 million transports, the Streuboden and Lärchfilzkogel group cable cars were said goodbye to their well-deserved retirement. Construction work on the new, modern monocable gondola has already begun and, thanks to crowdfunding, it is a joint project with locals and guests.

Admittedly, it was an end to the season that was a bit melancholy: the red, eye-catching gondolas of the Streubodenbahn had been in tireless use since 1991. The group trains accompanied countless people through their childhood and youth. An emotional bond that led many to participate financially in the new building and thus be an active part of a local mega-project.

Fieberbrunn's new litter railway: innovation, heart & citizen participation

The crowdfunding participation campaign initiated for the new building was a complete success and turns the new, modern Doppelmayr railway into a joint project: “Over 200 supporters decided to contribute to the new building through the crowdfunding participation campaign with a support amount of around € 600,000. “To participate in the project and receive vouchers of 15% on top,” reports Bergbahnen managing director Sebastian Schwaiger proudly. With this positive tailwind, you can start a long-awaited passion project full of confidence. A torque for Fieberbrunn and beyond - after all, the new railway will offer more comfort and quality in the future, a better view, with reduced travel time and without having to change trains, synonymous with an attractive summer and winter offer and an investment in the tourist competitiveness of the town and the region .

Construction summer 2024

The cable cars in Fieberbrunn will not be in operation in summer 2024 due to the new construction. Nevertheless, all locals and guests can look forward to an attractive and eventful offer on the mountain, which is provided by the Fieberbrunn mountain railways and the PillerseeTal tourism association. Timok's Wild World is open from May 17th to October 27th, 2024 and can be reached on foot or by bike via Zillstatt, Schweinstberg Forstweg (only in summer 2024) or Brendt. A shuttle service from the valley station will be offered from June 28th to September 8th, 2024. The hiking trails and via ferratas around the Wildseeloder are also open, as are the restaurants on the mountain. Detours due to construction sites are signposted. The Schweinstberg Trails I+II are open to bikers and can be reached via the uphill bike tour. And then just in time for the start of the new winter season it says: Hello, new Streubodenbahn, hello new skiing fun!
