2022/23 Swiss Snowboard Alpine Team Announced

Swiss Ski and Snowboard has announced its freestyle and snowboard teams for the 2022/23 World Cup season, with an impressive mix of veterans - including Olympic medallists, world champions and crystal globe winners - as well as up-and-comers ready to hit the slopes once we return to competition action next winter.

On the snowboard alpine side of things the Swiss Team, as in the previous years, will consist of a national team, pro team as well as challenger team.

Foremost amongst the national team is certainly Julie Zogg, who led the way for the Swiss squad on the 2021/22 parallel World Cup tour recording three victories and clinching her fourth consecutive, and career’s fifth PSL crystal globe.

Ladina Jenny and Dario Caviezzel are also on the three-person national team list. In 2021/22 Jenny claimed two top-3 finishes, while Caviezzel won his career’s first World Cup competition in Cortina d’Ampezzo (ITA).

The Swiss Snowboard Alpine Team was also very successful on the 2021/22 Europa Cup tour with as many as 20 podiums and a top-spot in the overall women’s ranking for Xenia Spoerri.

However, with Spoerri as well as Sebastian Schueller and 2018 Olympic gold medallist Nevin Galmarini hanging their boots at the end of this past winter campaign, the Swiss squad will be putting high hopes in four rookies that made a cut into challenger team for 2022/23.
