Yellowstone's Sleeping Ski Area Giant To Continue Winter Operations In 2021

Due to an outpouring of community support, Yellowstone Recreation Foundation is thrilled to announce that Sleeping Giant Ski Area is committed to continuing winter operations in 2021 and beyond.

They say:

"Over the coming weeks, we will share more details and invite the community to be a part of this amazing effort. Sleepy G, as it is known to local Cody residents, is an amazing gift to our community, providing a safe place for residents to gather in the winter months, children to ski or board with a buddy, and families to spend time plugged into each other and enjoy the natural beauty of the North Fork that so enriches our lives. We cannot say thank you enough for the passionate responses from our community members, who continue to ask, “how can I help?” We hear you and we thank you.

"Stay tuned for more news about how you can pledge your support with a tax deductible donation and lock in those early season pass sale prices. We still have many skier days left this season, so come out and enjoy a ride down the corduroy slopes and drop in to the lodge to say hello. We can’t wait to see you up there!"

Sleeping Giant serves the Big Horn Basin and Greater Yellowstone area with recreational downhill skiing, snowboarding, nordic skiing, snowshoeing, and zip lining. The recreation area is located just outside of Yellowstone’s East Gate, and only 50 miles west of Cody, Wyoming.

Over the last decade, Sleeping Giant has become the destination for local adventure. Our recreation area provides patrons with beautifully-groomed slopes, diverse terrain, top-of-the-line ski and snowboard instruction, and Wyoming’s largest dual zip line. Sleeping Giant is also known for its incredible views and wildlife.

Parents and kids are the livelihood of Sleeping Giant. Families come here because they feel safe and look forward to having a good time. They know that every skier and snowboarder is willing to offer guidance and assistance to others – young or old. It’s our community culture.
