What's New For Winter 25-26 In Haute Maurienne Vanoise

Located between the Vanoise National Park and the Italian border, the Savoyard resorts of Valfréjus, La Norma, Aussois, Val Cenis, Bessans, Bonneval sur Arc and their 17 villages make Haute Maurienne Vanoise an exceptional destination, committed to the future of the mountains.

Just four hours from Paris by train: suspended since August 2023 following a landslide, the TGV high speed train link between France and Italy is back on track. It takes just 4 hours and 3 minutes to and from Modane station. From here, visitors can catch a bus to the other resorts in Haute Maurienne Vanoise. La Norma, Valfréjus and Aussois are the nearest, just 15 minutes away.

This offer is valid for holders of a 6-day ski pass purchased in one of the 6 resorts. This pass covers unlimited skiing in the resort of purchase, a day skiing in each of the other resorts in the Haute Maurienne Vanoise and unlimited access to all Nordic areas.

Haute Maurienne Vanoise, one of the cradles of mountaineering, boasts exceptional ski touring. Both Bessans and Bonneval sur Arc are renowned for their sought-after certification «Terre d’Alpinisme» (UNESCO intangible cultural heritage). The destination is home to Thibault Anselmet, world leader in ski mountaineering – a sport making its debut as an Olympic discipline in Milano Cortina in 2026.

Val Cenis: 25 M€ in investments he frst resort in Haute Maurienne Vanoise to be awarded the coveted ‘Flocon Vert’ certifcation – with the aim of obtaining two – Val Cenis is a French pioneer in HVO testing, vegetable oil-based biofuel and 100% electric snow groomers. The resort, which boasts its own ‘Nature & Ski’ event and the launch of a low-carbon chairlift in 2025, recently beat its all-time sales record totaling 777,000 skier days and a 20-million-euro turnover. Such actions and data confrm the resort’s desire to improve the skiing on offer while focusing on the use of equipment and services in ‘pedestrian’ mode. The aim of the game? To diversify the offer and promote tourism in both winter and summer

A newing platform - Located at an altitude of 2,100 metres, at Replat des Canons – the summit of the eco-friendly Roches Blanches chairlift, this new viewing platform is accessible by ski, on foot or by mountain bike. 13 metres above the ground, 130 metres-long and 4 metres wide, the new facility offers panoramic views of the Vanoise National Park and its glaciers in both winter and summer, as well as a fun and educational trail to raise awareness of the alpine environment amongst all generations. 

NEW for this winter: Le Toët, a mountain restaurant located on the edge of the lake along the Mont Cenis pass is now open to spend a night. Le Toët is accessible on ski touring skis or snowshoes. Choose from a choice of local specialities such as Savoyard fondue or tartiflette, tuck into a homemade blueberry tart, watch the sunset on the frozen lake and get ready for bed.
