US Sports Camps Announces Summer Ski & Snowboard Camps For 2020

US Sports Camps, founded in 1975, recently crossed over the 100,000 camper milestone in 2019 and is looking to new and exciting segments like ski and snowboard camps at Mt Hood to offer to its customers. MHSSC offers alpine ski racing, moguls, freestyle ski and snowboard camps.

MHSSC has been offering ski camps (and more recently, snowboard camps) since 1979. The Palmer Glacier Chairlift, which opened in 1978, brought skiers from across the country, including Mike Annett who drove out from New York to see it for himself. The very next year he began offering camps at Mt Hood. Mike Annett, and his wife Lynne, are still the owners and operators of MHSSC to this day. The couple owns the MHSSC lodge, located on the east side of the cascades, just 5 miles from the village at Government Camp and have welcomed young skiers to their camp for over four decades. MHSSC has a staff of instructors which are dedicated to each focus of skiing and snowboarding.

“I still can’t believe we have the chance to offer ski and snowboard camps to our customers during summer, and on real snow!” says Westy McQueen, National Manager for US Sports Camps. “The addition of the Mt Hood Ski & Snowboard Camps is an incredible opportunity for our customers to get involved with action sports and we’re so excited to be a part of that.”

Palmer Glacier at Timberline Resort is the only ski area in America that is open 12 months per year. Mt Hood Ski & Snowboard Camp is the longest operating summer camp on the glacier and has private lanes for ski racing/moguls as well as access to Timberline’s new, state-of-the-art Freestyle Terrain Park. MHSSC has dedicated camper lodging just 5 miles east of the mountain’s main village, Government Camp, complete with a buffet dining room, bunk style rooms, two lodges, and fun on-site activities including a halfpipe skateboard ramp, mountain biking, trampoline, paintball and more. MHSSC’s camp staff consists of competitive athletes and coaches in each sport discipline.

“As avid snow sports enthusiasts, we welcome the opportunity to work with US Sports Camps,” says Mike Annett. “We love to help skiers and snowboarders improve and realize their dreams.”

Mt Hood Ski & Snowboard Camps are offered for 13 weeks all summer-long. Each week offers the following program types: ski racing (GS and slalom), moguls, freestyle ski, and snowboard. The programs are all-inclusive overnight camps running from Sunday – Saturday each week and provide overnight accommodations, meals, instruction, most of the evening activities and round-trip airport transportation to and from Portland International Airport (restrictions apply).

US Sports Camps, Inc., located in San Rafael, CA, is America’s largest sports camp company and is the licensed operator of NIKE Sports Camps in the U.S. and Canada. US Sports Camps offers over 1,000 locations nationwide across 15 different sports.
