Two New Names Are Introduced As Part Of Sweden’sNational Cross-Country Leadership Team

Two new names are now being introduced as part of the national cross-country team's leadership team. Marcus Wadell will become part of the coaching staff, and Fredrik Lindström will join the medical team as a doctor with a focus on the Team Svenska Spel Junior National Team.
During the spring, it became clear that Johan Granath in Falun and Ida Ingemarsdotter in Östersund would step up and become more involved in the A-national team and Team BAUHAUS together with Stefan Thomson.
Marcus Wadell is therefore being loaned from RIG-gymnasiet/Tingsholmsgymnasiet in Ulricehamn to reinforce and take over parts of Granath and Ingemarsdotter's responsibilities during the coming year. He will be primarily responsible for the Scandinavian Cup but will also assist with operations in Falun, as well as participating in junior national team activities and the junior World Championships/U23 World Championships in Norway.
"Marcus Wadell is an experienced coach who has worked with both juniors and seniors in Ulricehamn for many years, and has also been involved in various assignments with the national teams. He contributes an important anchoring into the RIG operations as he will continue his work at Tingsholmsgymnasiet, in parallel with strengthening our coaching staff," says national team manager Anders Byström.
"I am looking forward to taking the next step in the coaching role, and after many years in Ulricehamn it feels inspiring to be able to contribute more to the national team's activities. The Scandinavian Cup is an important arena for skaters with high ambitions, and to be part of the junior national team and the elite environment in Falun at the same time is a great privilege. I hope to be able to contribute to maintaining the strong training environment that already exists there," says Marcus Wadell.
This spring it was also announced that Markus Ottosson would be leaving his position as doctor for the junior national team. He will be replaced by a former Olympic gold medalist, biathlete Fredrik Lindström from Örnsköldsvik. Lindström has completed his medical degree after completing his elite career and is now taking on the role of doctor for the Team Svenska Spel Junior National Team.
"We look forward to the expertise that Fredrik Lindström brings to the team. He has an exciting background as a successful elite athlete, and in combination with his medical degree, he will be an important resource for our juniors," says Anders Byström.
Both have already begun their assignments and participated in activities during the summer.
