The Landing Resort & Spa In Lake Tahoe Ranked a Top 25 U.S. Hotel By TripAdvisor 2018 Travelers’ Choice Awards

Lake Tahoe’s only five-star boutique lakeside resort, The Landing Resort & Spa in South Lake Tahoe, California, has been recognized with “the highest honor TripAdvisor can bestow” as one of only 25 hotels in the country to be chosen by the world’s largest travel site as a Top Hotel in its 2018 Travelers’ Choice awards.

According to TripAdvisor, the Travelers’ Choice awards are “based on millions of reviews and opinions from travelers around the world,” with the annual honors reflecting the “‘best of the best’ for service, quality and customer satisfaction.” The Landing was named to the “Top 25 Hotels in the U.S.” category of recently announced winners.

Situated adjacent to Lakeside Beach in South Lake Tahoe, The Landing sits mere blocks from the Heavenly Village & Gondola, as well as the town’s shops, restaurants, craft breweries, gaming casinos and more. The premier boutique hotel and year-round resort features an abundance of amenities and nearby outdoor activities for guests to enjoy the stunning lake and mountains, from summer adventures like golf, hiking, biking, kayaking and fishing, to winter fun such as skiing and snowboarding (alpine and cross-country), snowmobiling, dogsledding and sleigh rides.

“We strive on a daily basis to offer the most pampering, gracious and efficient service in a lavish, comfortable and very personalized boutique setting,” says Henri Birmele, General Manager of The Landing. “We are delighted and grateful for this acknowledgement of our efforts, and we are humbled by our inclusion in TripAdvisor’s most exceptional properties across the U.S.”

Guests have been effusive with their praise for The Landing on TripAdvisor, recently calling it “simply amazing” and “hands-down by far the best resort I’ve ever stayed at.” Another guest shared, “We've finally found a hotel on the south side of the lake that fits the bill of a high quality, romantic, boutique property.”

Since it opened in 2013, The Landing has boasted individually and lavishly decorated ultra-luxe Premium King or Queen rooms – each offers soft leather chairs, plush robes, luxurious high-thread-count linens and a bath with jetted tub, walk-in rain shower and heated marble floors – as well as world-class wedding and meeting facilities.

The Landing’s elegant and comfortable on-site restaurant, Jimmy’s, is an award-winner in its own right, including two Tahoe Quarterly 2017 Best of Tahoe honors for its elegant-yet-comfortable fine dining setting and innovative Greek-inspired, Mediterranean-influenced cuisine. And après-ski cocktails or warm-weather libations can be savored on Jimmy’s lake-view deck, which gained notice in Open Table’s national picks for “6 restaurants with fire pits for year-round relaxation.” Meanwhile, the appealing and relaxing full-service spa – which offers sport-specific massages and a warm, welcoming vibe – features a variety of signature treatments for the ultimate in relaxation and rejuvenation.

In the colder months, The Landing offers a seamless snowy escape on or off the slopes that includes an abundance of winter-oriented amenities, including a complimentary Mercedes-Benz Sprinter van transport, dedicated ski valet service for gear, boot warmers and secure storage, along with in-room rental fittings for guests looking to avoid hauling their own. Come spring, The Landing is more than ready for warm-weather fun, as guests can enjoy private hotel access to Lakeside Beach, one of Tahoe’s finest sand beaches for swimming, picnicking, lounging or strolling. And nearby Lakeside Marina offers watersport options from passenger boats and 65-foot sailboat cruises to parasailing or stand-up paddleboarding.

Recent honors for The Landing Resort in addition to the 2018 TripAdvisor Travelers’ Choice include being named one of only two U.S. hotels on the site’s list of 10 top lakeside hotels worldwide and a #1 ranking in Condé Nast Traveler’s Readers’ Choice Awards for Top Northern California Hotels. The Landing also has been the recipient of multiple Oyster awards – including the Best U.S. Luxury Hotel designation – along with four TravelWeekly Gold Magellan Awards, the Luxury Travel Guide’s Luxury Resort and Spa of the Year 2016 and Haute Grandeur’s Best Resort Spa – North America.
