Thanksgiving Weekend Snow Piles Up Across Colorado

Mother Nature delivered for Colorado Ski Country USA (CSCUSA) member ski areas over the Thanksgiving Holiday weekend, with the majority measuring double digit storm totals and all ski areas receiving significant snowfall. Weather forecasts are calling for additional snowfall later this week through the weekend and into early December.

Highlights included over 20 inches at Arapahoe Basin, which is opening its new Beavers terrain today, Loveland Ski Area and Cooper. Double digit totals were measured at Aspen Mountain, Snowmass, Steamboat, Monarch, Copper Mountain, Eldora and Winter Park. Other ski areas receiving significant snowfall included Sunlight, which had its earliest ever opening on Friday Nov. 23, Telluride, Wolf Creek, and Purgatory.

Substantial October and November snowfall has allowed ski areas across Colorado to open early for the season with many opening additional terrain during the holiday weekend. More terrain openings are expected throughout the week and weekend.
