“I have always been passionate about how a product can enhance one’s experiences outdoors,” said McGibbon. “Having the opportunity to communicate how Snow Peak thoughtfully encourages people to shift away from the stresses of life and share time outside, is incredibly inspiring. I could not be more excited to join such a bold, courageous and passionate group of individuals, working to deliver a distinct experience to both customers and consumers alike, allowing them to connect with nature and build memorable and powerful bonds.”

To support this year of major expansion for Snow Peak, the brand is looking to hire a number of sales positions, with a focus on sales management, dealer services, customer service and multiple sales agencies across channels of distribution. Snow Peak’s journey began in 1958, when its founder Yukio Yamai, an accomplished Japanese mountaineer, created his own line of superior gear out of the dissatisfaction with available products.

Yamai‘s natural inspiration came from his life in Niigata Prefecture, Japan. A range of mountains that rise up to an altitude of 1000m form a wall on the boundary between Niigata and Gunma prefectures, and the rivers and streams born from the peaks and valleys flow out to the East Japan Sea. It is this place that inspired Yukio, and to this day continues to inspire all of the products that come from Snow Peak.
