Smugglers Sets Up For Summer. Hosting Host 2018 Professional Disc Golf World Championship

Following a banner Winter between great snow, and awards for Best Overall Resort, #1 for Service, and #1 Kid Friendly Resort, Smugglers’ charges into one of the most action-packed Summers in the Resort’s history. Beginning with Memorial Day events and activities, Smugglers’ continues to raise the bar for fun and community involvement with the Smugglers’ Bike Festival. A celebration of mountain biking, road biking, and recreational biking, the Smugglers’ Bike Festival culminates with the annual Lamoille Valley Rail Trail Bike-A-Thon fundraiser, with funds going to causes like the Vermont Veterans’ Place, Cambridge Rotary, and Friends of the Lamoille Valley Rail Trail.

The Smugglers’ Disc Golf Center continues it’s tremendous success by hosting the 2018 PDGA Professional Disc Golf World Championships from September 2-9. This massive event brings top players from around the world to compete for the ultimate title. To prepare for the arrival of Worlds, Smugglers’ is building a brand new pro shop at the Disc Golf Center to the tune of four times as large as the current shop. Inside, they will provide gear and equipment as well as a bevy of craft beers for purchase to refresh players’ taste buds out on the course.

The energy continues into the Summer season as Smugglers’ welcomes Summer with the Summer Solstice Celebration the week of June 17-23. Smugglers’ hosts a celebration of the longest day of the season with drumming, fire performers, a Country Fair that’s not to miss, and fireworks to round it all out. Special lodging deals are offered this week, giving families who book 3 nights or more during that week get the night of the Solstice FREE!

Continuing on a long-standing tradition of offering fun, safe, and enriching experiences for all ages, Smugglers’ is excited to offer even more activity options for families than ever! Expanding on the success of popular games around the Smugglers’ Notch Village such as human foosball and life-sized chess, guests will be delighted to try out activities like the life-sized pool table (soccer style), pickleball, and bocce! With the new addition of STEM activities (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math), quality family time just got a lot more fun. With some activities designed for ages 6 and under, and others aimed at ages 6 and up, families can learn about problem solving, engineering, and even nature, while working in teams to design and build various projects!

Smugglers’ Kids’ Club continues to spare parents from the stresses of dealing with a bored child. Introduced during Winter 2017-2018, Kids’ Club is a free program which provides kids with activities to pass the time while parents are busy doing “parent stuff.” Hailed as a resounding success, kids get their very own “treasure chest” reusable lunch bag with coloring activities, coupons, freebies, and stickers! Kids’ Club is just another way Smugglers’ proves to be America’s Family Resort.
