Record Season For Pitztal

The Pitztal Valley recorded the highest number of guest arrivals in its history during the past winter half-year. With 147,971 arrivals, the tourism destination recorded growth of 6.4% – a significant success for everyone involved in alpine winter tourism in the Pitztal Valley. Value creation remains challenging due to high inflation.

Strong increases in arrivals from Germany, the Czech Republic and Poland

Growth was particularly strong in the German, Polish, and Czech markets. The German market continued to record solid growth at a high level, with an increase of 7.4%. Arrivals from the Czech Republic also increased, with an increase of 5.8%. However, arrivals from Poland saw particularly strong growth, with an increase of 17.2%.

These record figures represent a special success for tourism in the Pitztal Valley for all involved. The joint efforts of all Pitztal businesses, from the cable cars to the hotels and holiday apartments to all service providers, are the main factor behind the pleasing figures in Pitztal tourism.

Not only arrivals, but also overnight stays saw encouraging growth in winter 2024/25. A total of 663,391 overnight stays represent an increase of 4.8% compared to the same period last year.

Record figures confirm the path taken

This extraordinary success not only confirms the strategic reorientation of market activities, but also testifies to the high quality of the businesses in the Pitztal Valley. With a clear focus on quality, authenticity, and hospitality, the Pitztal Valley is increasingly establishing itself as a preferred destination in alpine tourism.

"The numbers speak for themselves: Our consistent investments in quality, infrastructure, and market development are now bearing tangible fruit," explains Philipp Stöfelz, Managing Director of the Pitztal Tourism Association. "Today, Pitztal stands not only for authentic winter sports and guaranteed snow, but increasingly also for international hospitality with a vision. A big thank you to all our dedicated businesses who make this success possible."

Despite the encouraging figures from the last half of the winter, the situation for tourism remains tense. High inflation and a generally weakening economy continue to hamper value creation for tourism businesses. However, thanks to the positive results of the last half of the winter, the Pitztal valley considers itself well-positioned for the future and continues to focus on sustainable growth, improving quality, and tapping into new guest potential – without losing its Alpine identity.
