Pupils On The Slopes - First Austrian School Ski Day, December 14th

WKÖ-Fachverband Seilbahnen invites all students and teachers to a free school ski day across Austria on December 14th

On December 14, 2022 there will be a free school ski day throughout Austria for the first time. With this national initiative, the Association of Austrian Cable Cars in the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber (WKÖ) would like to invite all schoolchildren from the 5th grade to a free day of skiing. Appropriate registration forms for the participating mountain railways have already been sent to the school authorities throughout Austria by the specialist inspectors of the federal states.

"We know that we need the support of the professors and teachers so that students can take advantage of this school sports-related offer. We therefore hope that many educators will enable the children and young people to spend a wonderful day skiing together," says the association's chairman, Franz Hörl.

This free day of skiing for the schoolchildren from the new federal states is intended to encourage fun in outdoor exercise and in this way also encourage them to spend a winter sports week together in the white mountain world. Schools in Vienna and Burgenland can choose a ski area close to the city in Lower Austria for the school ski day.

This first initiative is supported by the Austrian Ski Association (ÖSV) and the Austrian ski industry. "A big thank you to everyone who is committed to this promotion to promote young skiers," adds project manager Franz Schenner, coordinator of Allianz Zukunft Winter.
