Poor Snow 2023 Causes FIS Para World Snowboard Championships Postponement

The International Ski and Snowboard Federation, together with the Local Organizing Committee from La Molina (ESP), have announced that the 2023 FIS Para World Snowboard Championships will be postponed.

The Champaionships, which were due to take place later this month, will now be held from 9th-18th March 2023. The new competition schedule can be found on the FIS Website Para Snowboard page.

The unseasonable warm termperatures across much of Central Europe over the holidays have created a current critical snow situation in La Molina, forcing the postponement of the competitions.

FIS would like to take the opportunity to thank the Organizing Committee for their flexibility and determination to stage a top World Championship for the Para Snowboard athletes.

The FIS Para Nordic and Alpine World Ski Championships are still on track to take place as originally scheduled from 21st-29th January in Oestersund (SWE) and Espot (ESP), respectively.
