Pats Peak - Over $25,500 Raised For Childhood Cancer Lifeline

The Childhood Cancer Lifeline 2020 event at Pats Peak raised over $25,500, guaranteeing vital supports to local families who have a child battling cancer. The Childhood Cancer Lifeline provides direct financial assistance and comfort items to families, as well as opportunities for family support, from the point of diagnosis, through the journey with cancer. In 2019, in excess of $100,000 was provided to local families, through the Lifeline’s financial assistance, laptop and scholarship programs.

Pats Peak skier/riders and employees donated at cashier locations through the donation request campaign and papered the lodges with well wishes, collectively donating $5,810. Auction and dinner attendees generously bid on many silent and live auction items and purchased raffle tickets to continue to raise money for the Childhood Cancer Lifeline. Pats Peak donated a portion of their March Midweek Online Lift Ticket sales for a total additional donation of $1,305. Over the past 20 years, fundraising efforts at Pats Peak for the Childhood Cancer Lifeline have raised in excess of four hundred and twenty-five thousand dollars.

Sylvia Pelletier, President of the Childhood Cancer Lifeline says: “With the unfortunate reality that NH has the highest rate of pediatric cancer in the nation, the need for support is constant. As a small organization, we all work very hard to raise funds and give them directly to those who need it, the families. This year’s event again shows that our community is filled with compassionate, generous people. The lodge was papered in the well-wishes of visitors. Our auction and dinner featured a tightly-packed group of bidders, who enjoyed bidding against one another in support of families. We are tremendously grateful for the continued support of Pats Peak employees, vendors, skiers and riders, community members, businesses, and families. On any given day, when we are able to help a parent desperate to find funds to repair a car, or pay a mortgage, or put oil in the tank, it is because of all this support. Our ability to be a light in an hour of darkness is because of all of you.”
