Roland Zegg Leaving Zermatt Bergbahnen BOD

Roland Zegg is stepping down from the board of directors of Zermatt Bergbahnen AG (ZBAG). Over the past 20 years he has played a key role in setting up the largest Swiss mountain railway company and has shaped the company.
At the General Assembly of Zermatt Bergbahnen AG (ZBAG) in October 2021, Roland Zegg no longer made himself available as a member of the Board of Directors.
In 2001, Roland Zegg led the large merger of the former four mountain railway and two ski lift companies and led the merger negotiations. 
When Zermatt Bergbahnen was founded in February 2002, he was appointed to the Board of Directors and elected Vice President. He was heavily involved in the development of the largest Swiss mountain railway company and over the past 20 years has been closely involved in shaping and responsible for strategic management as well as important personal decisions at management level.
“Roland Zegg was a man from the very beginning at the time of the merger. With his enormous know-how and his network, he has contributed a lot to our company. He was a team player on the board of directors, his skills and his wealth of experience were of great benefit to ZBAG ”, says Franz Julen, Chairman of the Board of Directors of ZBAG. With a turnover of CHF 75 million, around 300 employees and the new 3S cable car to the Little Matterhorn, the Zermatt Bergahnen are one of the pearls in Swiss tourism.
Like no other, Zegg is an expert and connoisseur of the mountain railway industry and tourism in the Alpine region. His word carries weight. For 33 years he has accompanied large and magnificent projects, a total of almost 1,000.
Roland Zegg is Senior Advisor at grischconsulta. In this role, he continues to advise and support a wide range of projects in the mountain railway industry and alpine tourism with his extensive wealth of experience. He is also the founder of the alpine-wide renowned TFA TourismusForum Alpenregionen and the sustainability label ibex fairstay.
