Excerpt from the laudation:

"The Tyrolean state government has awarded Roswitha Stadlober , President of the Austrian Ski Association, the Grand Order of the Tyrolean Eagle. On the ski slopes of the 1980s, she was one of the world's best slalom skiers. After her first World Cup victory in Waterville Valley, further top placings followed, earning her the slalom globe in 1986 and 1988.

Today, she is the first woman to head the world's most powerful ski association – with determination, a clear vision, and the heart of an athlete. What has always accompanied her: her deep connection to Tyrol – the heart of winter sports. With the headquarters of the Austrian Ski Federation (ÖSV) in Innsbruck, the promotion of local youth sports, and as a committed contributor to international races on Tyrolean snow, she is shaping Tyrol as a sporting destination in a lasting way. Whether on the racetrack, as sports spokesperson in the Salzburg state parliament, or at the helm of the association – Roswitha Stadlober has always shown that sporting ambition, perseverance, and empathy make the difference, even in leadership positions. Her attitude is a role model: for fairness, for youth development, and for women in elite sport.
