From the head of the World Climbing Championships to the sole director in Nauders
The recently warmly bid farewell to the Executive Board duo pays their successor respect at the beginning of his activity as sole director. “Michael Schöpf impressively demonstrated his management skills last year. We had to deal with the effects of the pandemic at this stage. At the same time, the major investment project that had been initiated for the new Gold Sea Railway had to be put on track. Michael mastered these tasks brilliantly. His professional experience undoubtedly predestines him for the challenging task as a member of the management board of Nauderer Bergbahnen AG, ”explain Stecher and Wolf in unison. Before his involvement in Nauders, Schöpf was a member of the management of the Austrian Climbing Association.
Helmut Spöttl: "Future-oriented further development secured"
Helmut Spöttl, Mayor and Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Bergbahnen, emphasizes that the change at the operational top is the consequent final act of an organizational restructuring that began five years ago. “In 2016 we decided to convert to a stock corporation. This went hand in hand with an operational and structural reorientation, which our owner representatives Karl Stecher, Helmut Wolf and Manfred Wolf pushed ahead with great commitment. Thanks to you from the Supervisory Board. It was clear from the start that, at the end of the successfully implemented process, responsibility for operational management would be transferred to a full-time board member. We are convinced that with the latest step we are securing future-oriented further development for our leading company, ”emphasizes Spöttl.
Schöpf: "Force service and service orientation"
Board member Michael Schöpf sees his tasks clearly defined in the coming years. “In the short term, the aim is to lead the company out of this currently still noticeable health crisis, which is an economic crisis especially for the cable car industry. Subsequently, the service orientation at the Nauderer Bergbahnen has to be consistently further developed. Quality awareness forms the basis for generating sustainable added value for our company and thus for the whole of Nauders. My predecessors and the entire mountain railway team have done an excellent job here over the past few years. We can continue to build on this, ”says Schöpf.
80 year-round jobs and an investment of 11 million euros
