Mammut, leading Swiss-born premium outdoors and mountain safety brand, is honored to announce that two of its FW20 products have been selected as contenders in the 2020 Outdoor Retailer Winter Market Innovation Awards. The Innovation Awards are a showcase of the most original, inventive and progressive outdoors products from the leading brands in the outdoor industry and are awarded on Day 2 of Outdoor Retailer, January 30, 2020, in Denver, CO.
The Mammut Photics HS Thermo Bomber Jacket and Mammut Nordwand 6000 High mountaineering boot were named finalists, and represent the incredible innovation coming from the brand with over a century and a half of experience and history. In addition, Mammut is the only brand to have been named twice in the list of thirty final contenders.
The Mammut Photics HS Thermo Bomber Jacket is a fully waterproof down-filled bomber-style jacket that is constructed using the world’s first and only laser-fusing machine, housed in Mammut’s Seon, Switzerland headquarters. The futuristic introduction of laser fused seams eliminates the need for existing stitching methods creating a cutting-edge garment that is as technically high performance as it is stylistically progressive, speaking to both an urban and mountain-based consumer.
Mammut’s Nordwand 6000 High is the lightest weight, warmest mountaineering boot in the 6000-meter category on the market. With 7-layers of insulation, a sock-like inner boot construction, using BOA closure systems for a perfect fit, and a 30% reduction in weight from its closest competitor, achieved by outsole rubber reduction, the Nordwand 6000 sets the bar to a new level of high performance.
“Mammut is thrilled to be recognized as an industry leader in cutting edge products and garments with these two awards positions,” said Mammut North America Category Manager Stephen Barnes. “Our brand functions without compromise on performance or ingenuity, and we are proud to offer best in class products for all manner of outdoors immersion.”
Mammut’s FW20 collection launches to consumers in September 2020 and will be previewed at Outdoor Retailer in January 2020. The Innovation Awards will be held during Outdoor Retailer on Thursday, January 30, 2020 and 30 finalists will be judged and showcased with one brand and product being named as the winner.
