Loon Mountain Resort Unleashes Zombie—Its First Double-Black Diamond Bike Park Trail

Loon Mountain Resort opened Zombie, its first double-black diamond technical mountain bike trail today.
Featuring steep turns, loamy descents, and punchy technical features, Zombie is designed to push the most seasoned riders to their limits.
“We’re really excited to offer our first double-black diamond trail—it will definitely be a unique experience for our most advanced riders,” said Bryan Harper, Loon’s Bike Park Manager.
Entirely hand-built, Zombie opens during the resort’s final Friday Night Bikes—a series of extended Bike Park hours held on Fridays throughout the summer—offering expert riders a thrilling sendoff to summer and a bold kickoff to fall.
With the addition of Zombie, Loon’s Bike Park features 20 open trails spanning over 14 miles and 1,000 vertical feet of terrain. Accessed via the high-speed Kancamagus 8 chairlift, the park’s newest expert-level trail adds more than 600 feet of challenging terrain—enriching the park’s offerings for advanced riders.
More Trails Opening Too
The trail crew has also been hard at work on Wheelhouse—a new blue square technical trail that blends natural terrain with machine-crafted flow.
A new section of Wheelhouse trail is expected to open September 6, adding a fresh option for intermediate riders.
Meanwhile, construction is nearing completion on the final section of Crossbuck, a blue-square technical trail slated to open September 13. First introduced last summer, this final section will mark the full completion of the trail.
Guests can lock in two days of Bike Park access with the MTB 2-Pack for $89—and experience the newly opened Zombie trail, along with Wheelhouse and Crossbuck, throughout the fall season.
