Latest Technology From LEITNER In High Demand In France And Eastern Europe

A mix of increased comfort and efficiency forms the basis for LEITNER's activities in France and Eastern Europe. The company can look forward to a pioneering order from a new customer as well as prestigious projects in well-known winter sports destinations. The focus is on the smart and sustainable use of existing resources and the use of the most modern and efficient cable car technology.
The order to build a new 10-seater gondola lift, including the option of transporting bikes, in the French ski resort of Gourette marked the first collaboration between the operator and the Italian cable car manufacturer LEITNER. As part of this comprehensive restructuring of the lift infrastructure, the GD10 "Cotch" was built on the route of a disused 6-seater chairlift and now transports up to 2,000 people per hour to the Snowk'fé mountain restaurant at an altitude of 1,610 meters with 24 premium Diamond EVO cabins.
In 2022, LEITNER built two high-performance 6-seater chairlifts in the French ski resort of La Forêt Blanche on the Vars side. This was followed in 2024 by the construction of another system of the same type on the Risoul side: The CD6 "Homme de Pierre" replaces two existing systems with the 3-seater chairlift "Césier" and the drag lift "Homme de Pierre" and is equipped with individual footrests and bike racks, among other things. The system transports up to 2,400 people per hour, thus ensuring an even faster connection to the mountain station at an altitude of 2,376 meters.
In Font Romeu in the Prades district, the signs are also pointing towards an increase in performance and safety: with the decision to build a new fixed-grip 4-seater chairlift including KidStop, the transport capacity on the 638-metre-long route will increase to 2,000 people per hour.

The Slovakian ski resort Bachledka Ski & Sun invested in a new 6-seater chairlift with LEITNER DirectDrive. The CD6C "Franková" upgrades the popular family ski resort with a transport capacity of almost 3,000 people per hour. As part of the work, the 10-seater gondola lift built by LEITNER in 2018 was also equipped with nine additional cabins to increase the transport capacity.
In Poland, three new facilities were built in 2024. In the Szczyrk Mountain Resort, one of the largest ski areas in the country, a comfortable 6-seater chairlift was built in addition to a new drag lift. The CD6C "Doliny III" is equipped with weather protection hoods, individual footrests and premium upholstery and has an hourly capacity of 1,800 people with a travel time of less than four minutes. This noticeably increases the quality on the way to the 36-kilometer-long, mostly beginner-friendly ski area.
A new inclined lift in Wisla serves as a modern feeder to the ski jump. The facility, with automatic level control, transports up to 40 people over a distance of 300 meters in a modern 3S Symphony cabin and can also be used for tourist purposes in the summer.
In Chelmos, in the northern part of the Peloponnese peninsula, LEITNER has now built a new 6-seater chairlift to replace a disused 2-seater chairlift after a 10-seater gondola lift in 2023. The "Styga" system has a height difference of 475 meters and transports up to 1,500 people per hour to the mountain station of the Chelmos - Kalavrita ski area in just five minutes.
Two new LEITNER drag lifts are modernizing the transportation of guests in the Kolašin ski resort in Montenegro, symbolizing the plan to become the largest ski resort in Southern Europe with up to 250 kilometers of slopes. Additional cable car systems and connections to other ski resorts are planned for the near future.
