Largest And Most Relevant Cross-alpine Summer Study "Best Summer Resort 2021" Successfully Implemented!

From June to September 2021, over 40,000 guests in 50 alpine destinations were asked directly about their satisfaction, the selection criteria and other decisive points using a questionnaire.

The study "BEST SUMMER RESORT OF THE ALPS" was carried out for the first time in 2019, so that there are also very interesting and meaningful comparisons with the pre-Corona period.

The results of the summer study 2019 were somewhat surprising compared to our winter data. Accordingly, summer guests showed a higher level of satisfaction than those guests who visit us in winter. At the same time, the return intention of the summer guests was lower. “We will see whether this trend is confirmed by the data we have just collected,” says project manager Thomas Häder from Mountain Management Consulting.

“One can also be curious about the“ self-image ”of the guests surveyed. Especially the new sets of questions, adapted to the current situation, will allow very informative conclusions, ”says Mike Partel, the initiator of Best Ski Resort.
The individual reports for each area, including the Alpine benchmarks, will be available at the end of 2021.
Important data / information from the study will be presented on Thursday, December 9th, 2021 at 4:00 p.m. via live stream. As part of the presentation, the participants will receive answers to the following and many other questions:
  • Which guests visited us this summer?
  • Which criteria were decisive for the booking decision?
  • How satisfied were the guests with the destination and the offers?
  • What activities do the guests do?
  • How do the guests rate topics such as sustainability, regionality, authenticity?
The study “BEST SUMMER RESORT 2021” provides very valuable insights. Especially due to the changing framework conditions, it is important to know the behavior of the guests better in order to proactively drive the further development process!
The project manager of the study, Thomas Häder, is available for more information.
