J-Skis Works With Artist Chris Nixon On Retro Styled Skis

Jason Levinthal's J skis has teamed with Australain artist Chris Nixoin on a 300 pair limited edition model. Chris Nixon is an illustrator, designer and creative director based in Perth, Australia. Inspired by the West Coast and classic surf culture with an emphasis on the handmade and crafted, his textured work and direction spreads across a wide range of media. From children’s books to animation, commercial illustration to large scale public art, Nixon threads a distinct style across all scales and sizes to extend his creativity. Chris has created several large scale artworks which have been installed around Australia and has exhibited work in Tokyo, Berlin, Bali, Sydney and Melbourne

Levinthal saus "Chris Nixon is an illustrator who's artwork is well known, seen on a variety of mediums from childrens books, to gigantic paintings across the walls of buildings in Australia. I really like Chris' hand crafted raw style, inspired by West Coast and classic surf culture, especially the funny characters he creates. I sent him a bunch of different inspirational images paying homage to skiing's icons and the oldschool après scene, and he ran with it!

"I'm building only 300 pair of these Limited edition skis and hand signing and numbering each. Grab a pair before these one-of-a-kind skis sell out. You'll be one of the few skiers with these rare J's on your feet!"

""The Whipit" ski will literally read your mind taking your skiing further faster, with less effort than ever before. I designed this ski with a 90mm waist for enhanced edge-to-edge quickness on firm snow. I also added Carbon fiber to it's construction for a game-changing light weight poppy feel both on the snow and in the air. Wether you want to whip around technical tricks or make effortless carves forwards or backwards with ease, you'll feel like there's nothing on your feet. Yup! This is the funnest, lightest, quickest, easiest, butteryest, most durable all-terrain ski of all"

Unlike other rockered skis, Line carefully matches rocker geometry with sidecut geometry. To accomplish this perfect match, they blend multiple size radii into one smooth parabolic curve from the end of the camber to the very tip, like a surfboard.

This creates a much smoother tip shape that has no abrupt kinks, flat spots or awkward changes for the best of both worlds! The rockered tips effortlessly surf and float in powder, while the edge length in contact with snow is dramatically increased to improve grip and reduce tip chatter and bounce. You won’t believe how precise and effortless your skis feel from the hard pack to the pow!
