FWT Announces Event Wildcard In Fieberbrunn. ZZZZZZZZZZZ

Another day, another wildcard from the FWT. You have to wonder, is this just an effort to keep idiots like us writing about them or do they wake up and think 'gee, forgot about him, let's give him a wildcard'. Well for the one person who cares, probably in the FWT office, here goes.

Austrian shredder Dennis Ranalter will make his FWT debut this season, gaining an event wildcard in the ski men’s category in Fieberbrunn. His stylish approach to big mountain skiing has caught the attention of the freeride world, and all eyes will be on the rookie to see if he can deliver a strong performance in his home mountains.

Dennis grew up in the Stubaital valley in Tirol, Austria, surrounded by high peaks and a community devoted to snow sports. He started skiing at the age of three, and enjoyed his first successes in Slopestyle contests in his teens. After years of competing in local contests, he made the Austrian ski team, which allowed him to travel and compete on a large scale, eventually earning his place on Slopestyle World Cup.

More recently, Dennis has committed all his energy to filming, appearing in movies by Level 1 Productions, Legs of Steel and We are the Coterie, as well as undertaking a bunch of projects with friends. His latest movie, Anywhere from Here, by Matchstick Productions won ‘Film of the Year’ at the Whistler edition of the iF3 Festival. His part in this movie also contributed to him winning ‘Breakout Skier of the Year’ at the same awards, highlighting his talent among some of the best big mountain athletes in the film industry.

“I am very thankful to get the chance to ride on the FWT, and I am really looking forward to having a good time with all the boys and girls out there.”  Dennis Ranalter, FWT competitor
