Finland Wins Title of Worlds Best Kids Snow Programme

The FIS “Bring Children to Snow” international campaign to engage and encourage the younger generations to winter sports rewarded the recipients of the 5th FIS SnowKidz Award presented by Burton Riglet. The top three award winners were decided by the jury from among the eight finalists. The results are as follows: 

  1. Finland – Snow Moves! – 265pts
  2. Sweden – Everyone on Snow – 254 pts
  3. United States of America – Minne-Loppet – 252pts
  4. Spain – The Snow Graduation – 247pts
  5. Andorra – Ski School Educational Project – 245pts
  6. Japan – Prince SnowKidz – 245pts
  7. Canada – Grade 4&5 SnowPass – 242pts
  8. Brazil – Brazilian Rollerski Circuit – 241 pts

Finland becomes the first country to win back to back SnowKidz Awards. Bring Children to the Snow Coordinator Andrew Cholinski said “Following the 4th edition of the Award Organisers did not rest and expanded their programmes extensively. ”

The win by Finland now not only gives them the title of the “ Worlds Best Kids Snow Program” for the next two years but also sees them take home 15’000CHF and a brand new Burton Riglet park curtesy of Burton Snowboards.

Finally FIS would like specially thank Burton Snowboards for their support in this years Award.

Looking ahead FIS can confirm the 6th edition of the Award will be taking place in 2020.
