Final Preparations For Austria's Longest Ultra Trail Continue

On August 5th, Austria's longest Ultra Trail will start in the PillerseeTal. Preparations for the second edition of the KAT100 in the Kitzbühel Alps are going according to plan. Registrations are still possible.

Austria's longest trail run , the KAT100, will start on Thursday, August 5th at 6 p.m. in Fieberbrunn . 100 miles or 173.9 kilometers with an altitude of 9,996 metersit has to be completed. After the extremely successful premiere two years ago, the organizers around trail professional Thomas Bosnjak expect a top-class, international starting field. “The KAT100 Miles will be both an Austrian championship and a qualification run for the Ultra Trail du Mont Blanc (UTMB) - the most famous ultra in the world. In addition, with HOKA One One® we were able to win an extremely important partner for the event, ”explains Bosnjak. More than 500 participants have already registered, "but there are still new registrations every day and, depending on the availability of the starting places, late registrations are possible up to one hour before the start of the respective competition", confirms project manager Angelika Hronek from TVB PillerseeTal.

Preparations on the various routes are going according to plan

In addition to the KAT100 Miles , a variety of route variants such as the KAT100 Endurance Trail with 91.5 kilometers or the KAT100 Ekiden Trail as well as the team and marathon competition are also available this year. In addition to the KAT100 Speed Trail with 24.2 kilometers, there is also an Easy Trail with 8 kilometers available for beginners and kids from the U6 to the U16 will find their trail running experience at 500 to 1,500 meters in the center of Fieberbrunn. In order to guarantee this diverse range of routes, the preparatory work has been in full swing for weeks. In addition to the route signs and safety measures, food, start-finish area, registration, equipment and much more must be organized. It was necessary to speak to the landowners, municipalities and numerous authorities in advance. “We are incredibly grateful for the cooperation with everyone involved. Such an event would not be possible without the great support of the many volunteers, clubs and partners, ”said Hronek. You can find all further information at www.kat100.at .
