Extraordinary General Meeting Of Swiss-Ski. Peter Barandun Is The Sole Candidate For Election As President

Peter Barandun is the sole candidate for election as President of Swiss-Ski at the extraordinary delegate meeting on October 22 in Aarau. No further nominations were received from the voting clubs and regional associations by the deadline.

A month ago, the Swiss-Ski Executive Board unanimously agreed that Peter Barandun would lead the association as sole president instead of co-president. The Graubünden native has been a member of the Swiss-Ski Executive Board since 2012; until his election as co-president at the 2024 Delegates' Assembly, he served as vice president. Peter Barandun is CEO and Chairman of the Board of Electrolux Switzerland.

On October 22, delegates will elect another person to the Swiss Ski Executive Board to replace the resigned Co-President Urs Lehmann. One candidate has been received for the vacant position of additional Vice President – Stefan Binggeli. The Swiss Ski Executive Board and the regional associations of Binggeli's Interregion (Central) including SAS unanimously support the candidacy.

If Stefan Binggeli is elected Vice President at the Extraordinary Delegates' Meeting, he would resign from his position as President of Snowsport Mittelland-Northwest Switzerland (SSM) and from the SSM Board. Interregion Central, which Stefan Binggeli has represented on the Swiss Ski Executive Board since 2019, would then reorganize this representation.
