Double Olympic Medalist Andrew Weibrecht Ready To Ski Again With Mirror Lake Inn Guests

In the spring of 2018, Andrew Weibrecht, son of Mirror Lake Inn Resort and Spa owners Ed and Lisa Weibrecht, ended a 16-year alpine skiing career that included Olympic silver and bronze medals. That announcement, however, opened a door for recreational skiers who are guests of the AAA Four Diamond resort in Lake Placid.

Since 2019, Andrew has been available to guide hotel guests, exclusively, down the slopes of Whiteface Mountain. The 1980 Olympic site is where he learned his craft with his two brothers. Now he’ll take you down those same trails at speeds comfortable for all skiers and on appropriate terrain for their ability levels.

On hill sessions, which begin Dec. 3, will be limited to no more than five people, and can be two to seven hours in length.

“With our first snow flurries having already fallen, I’m now getting excited to explore my home mountain and share my love of skiing with Mirror Lake Inn guests throughout the winter,” said Weibrecht. “If guests have questions for me about the program, they are always welcome to contact me directly at andrew@mirrorlakeinn.com.”

More details of this exclusive offer can be found on the Mirror Lake Inn website.

Guests can sign up individually, as part of a group of five, or reserve a group of five for an uber-exclusive and private experience.

The opportunity to accompany Andrew is geared for those who are at least of intermediate ability; it is not instructional in nature and not available to those who have never skied. Those who would like to learn this lifelong sport are encouraged to seek instruction from the Whiteface Mountain Ski School.

For more information including available dates, please call the Mirror Lake Inn at 518-523-2544 and speak with one of our on-site reservationists, or email Andrew directly.

Please note: Ski With Andrew is not available Dec. 24-25, Jan. 28-29 and Feb. 9-11.
