Black Diamond Equipment Presents 10th Annual SLCA Fundraiser

Black Diamond Equipment is hosting the 10th annual Salt Lake Climbers Alliance (SLCA) fundraiser, scheduled for 6-10 p.m., Thursday, June 6. The event will take place at Black Diamond’s Salt Lake City headquarters, at 2084 E. 3900 South St.

“Black Diamond is an instrumental partner to the SLCA,” said Julia Geisler, SLCA executive director. “This annual event is our most critical fundraiser of the year, and without the support of Black Diamond, other sponsors and attendees, the SLCA would not be able to act as a unified voice for Wasatch climbers.”

SLCA is a 501c(3) non-profit organization created to promote climbing opportunities, to preserve local climbing access and to encourage stewardship of the environment in the Wasatch and beyond. SLCA is currently replacing worn out bolts and anchors and improving trails that provide access to local crags. The SLCA continually advocates for the sport and offers educational events and programs to ensure local climbing areas stay open to the public.

“This event embodies the spirit of the Salt Lake climbing community and has been a huge success over the last nine years,” states Tyler Willcutt, Black Diamond Equipment’s event and athlete manager. “The SLCA plays an important role for climbers in the Wasatch and we are proud to support them and their efforts in climbing stewardship.”

The fundraiser will include an evening of food, drinks, raffles and music to benefit the SLCA. It will be held outdoors, rain or shine. Children under the age of twenty-one must be accompanied by an adult and dogs are prohibited. Tickets can be purchased for $35 at the door or $30 in advance here

Early ticket holders will be entered for a chance to win $800+ value climbing kit from Black Diamond. Additionally: $25 student rate at door, $15 for kids ten and under and free for kids one and under.

Associated sponsors include: Moab Brewery Beer, Yoshi’s Japanese Grill, Gnarly Nutrition, Goal Zero, The Front Gear Room, Cypher Terra Health Collective, The More Group, HawkWatch, Backcountry.com, Louis Arevalo Photography, Tommy Chandler Photography, Kylee Firlit, Petzl, REI, Mammut, Blue Ice, Rock Steady Bodyworks and Wilkinsons.
