Big Plans Outlined By Arapahoe Basin

Arapahoe Basin has announced adraft master plan with 2 new gondolas, a new lift, a new learning area and expanded snowmaking. They say:
"All of us at Arapahoe Basin are happy to share our DRAFT 2025 Master Development Plan (MDP). It has been submitted to the Forest Service for review and, hopefully, acceptance. Acceptance of the plan does not grant approval of projects within the plan. Acceptance simply recognizes that the plan is within the scope our existing Speical Use Permit, the White River Forest Plan and other benchmarks assosciated with operating a mountain resort on Forest Service lands. Subsequent to the plan acceptance, we will begin the project approval process in accordance with the National Environemntal Policy Act - commonly referred to as NEPA.
"The MDP is a forward looking document that addresses project resort needs for about the next decade. This plan has no expansion of the ski area boundary. Projects within the MDP are highly focused on the guest and employee experience as well as guest and employee safety. The plan includes a very short gondola and chairlift conveyor designed to vastly improve the beginner skier experience. Additionally and adjacent to those lifts is a skier services building that could include space for ski rental, food and beverage operations, rest rooms and other guest and employee needs. Other projects include a couple of fairly small parking lots, a pedestrian bridge over Highway 6, snowmaking improvements, remote avalanche control devices on the Upper East Wall and West Montezuma Bowl and several other projects.
"You can review the entire here, A-Basin MDP. We are also doing an MDP Open House Saturday, May 31 from 4-6 PM on the 2nd Floor of the A-Frame. The program will start with a 20 minute prepared session followed by Q and A. If this kind of stuff gets you excited, I encouraged you to review the plan and come to the Open House with all of your questions. Hope to see you there."
