New Qualification Secures Skilled Workers For Ski Lifts With Taz-Mitterberghütten & Gasteiner Bergbahnen

alzburg is establishing itself as a pioneer in skilled worker training for the cable car industry. In a pioneering partnership, Mario Palatin from TAZ-Mitterberghütten and organizational developer Claudia Preslmayr, together with Gasteiner Bergbahnen AG, have developed an innovative additional qualification for maintenance technicians.
The initiative of Gasteiner Bergbahnen AG provided the decisive impetus for this groundbreaking project. As one of the leading operators, they recognized early on the growing need for qualified maintenance technicians, particularly in the demanding electrical field. Based on this insight, a tailor-made training concept was developed in close cooperation, which was presented to other renowned cable car companies.
This innovative approach enables technicians from outside the industry to acquire the specific knowledge and skills of cable car technology in three practice-oriented blocks over a period of approximately one to one and a half years. A core element of the concept is the unique integration of theory and practice: Each training block in the workshops of the TAZ-Mitterberghütten is complemented by one- to two-day intensive practical sessions in the real-life environment of the cable car hall at the Hallein Vocational School. Here, participants can directly test and apply what they have learned on functioning lift systems.
Through close collaboration with experienced instructors and lecturers from the Operations Manager Training program, a novel and forward-looking additional qualification is being created. All participants, especially Gasteiner Bergbahnen AG as a key partner, are convinced that this innovative project addresses a key future issue for the industry and holds considerable development potential in the coming years.
