Steinplatte Readies New Bäreck Lift
Starting in winter 2025/26, the Steinplatte Winklmoosalm will offer even more comfort and improved service: No more freezing on the way to the summit! Look forward to the new Bäreckbahn – a modern, detachable 6-seater chairlift from Doppelmayr with a weather-protection hood, premium chairs, heated seats, and locking bar locks.
The Steinplatte ski and hiking area [ 9 ] is located in a network with the Bavarian Winklmoosalm near Reit im Winkl . It is accessible by road from Waidring to the Gasthaus Steinplatte/Bergkapelle (toll road), via the Winklmoosalm, as well as by cable cars from Waidring ( Bergbahnen Steinplatte ) and, since 2009, from Seegatterl (to Reit im Winkl ) in Bavaria . The ski area covers all levels of difficulty. All lifts can also be used with the St. Johann in Tirol ski pass . During the winter season, 13 lifts are available
Furthermore, the ski area is taking giant steps into the future with a state-of-the-art operations building including a service station and a functional mountain rescue base – safer, faster, and more family-friendly than ever.
