Méribel Prepares for a Standout Winter Season with New Experiences, Upgrades and Events

It may only be September, but ski enthusiasts are already dreaming of their next mountain escape — and Méribel is shaping up to be one of this winter’s standout destinations. Nestled in the heart of Les 3 Vallées, the iconic resort is gearing up for a season of unforgettable new experiences, exciting upgrades and sustainability initiatives.
Night Train to the Alps is Back
This winter, travelling to Méribel becomes easier and more eco-friendly than ever. Fall asleep in Paris and wake up in the heart of the Alps with the return of the Travelski Night Express, offering a comfortable and convenient journey from Paris to Moutiers. Running from 19 December 2025 until 20 March 2026, this overnight service features 660 cosy beds and a lively bar-restaurant car, making the journeyas enjoyable as the destination.
First Tracks on Roc De Fer
Early mornings in Méribel are pure magic. With the new First Tracks experience, skiers gain exclusive access to the freshly groomed Roc de Fer slopes before the lifts open to the public. It’s a rare chance to carve through untouched snow in perfect silence – just you, the sunrise and the rhythm of your turns. For those who believe the best moments on the mountain happen before the day truly begins, this is as good as it gets.
Franglish Festival Returns
Back by popular demand, the Franglish Festival is a long weekend of rip-roaring stand-up comedy in the heart of the resort. Expect an avalanche of laughs, a bit of piste-taking and plenty of fun at altitude! World-class comedians will take to the stage against one of the world’s most stunning alpine backdrops. Some shows will be in French, others in English – and one will even blend both languages. The 2025 edition runs from Monday 3 to Thursday 6 February, with performances taking place in Méribel’s central auditorium.
Major Upgrades for Rhodos and Côte Brune lifts

Méribel is investing in significant lift infrastructure upgrades aimed at improving comfort, efficiency and environmental integration. The Rhodos cable car is undergoing a full renovation, including new-generation cabins, mechanical station upgrades and a complete electrical overhaul. The departure and intermediate stations will be modernised in 2025, with the arrival station set for 2026—all designed with sustainability and landscape integration in mind. Meanwhile, the Côte Brune chairlift is being transformed into a high-capacity gondola featuring 10-seater cabins, increasing transport flow to 2,600 people per hour at speeds of up to 7 m/s. This new lift will enhance skier flow between Val Thorens and Les Menuires, while reducing the number of pylons from 25 to 14—minimising its visual and environmental footprint. meribel.net
Meribel Goes Green

The resort of Méribel has been awarded two ‘Flocons Verts’ (Green Snowflakes), a prestigious benchmark label that recognises mountain destinations committed to ecological transition. This recognition highlights Méribel’s dedication to positive and sustainable tourism. It also reflects the outcome of a collective effort led by local stakeholders and supported by the “Méribel 2038” structural program, which was launched in 2021.
FIS Alpine Skiing European Cup Finals Return to Méribel
This March, Méribel once again takes centre stage as it hosts the FIS Alpine Skiing European Cup Finals — a key event on the international race calendar. From 9–13 March, the world’s top emerging ski talent will compete in high-speed downhill, slalom and giant slalom races on the legendary Roc de Fer piste. With both men’s and women’s events held over five thrilling days, it's a rare chance to watch future World Cup champions in action — all set against Méribel’s dramatic alpine backdrop. Spectator zones, entertainment and village festivities make it a must for ski fans and families alike.
