Höhenweg Trophy 2025: The Big Mountain Challenge In Wildschönau Scheduled For Saturday, October 11, 2025

On Saturday, October 11, 2025, the Wildschönau region will be all about exercise: The Höhenweg Trophy enters its next round. The program features a variety of routes for hikers and trail runners – from the classic Höhenweg to two new sporting challenges.

The proven hiking route runs 15.3 kilometers from the Markbachjochbahn mountain station to the Schönangeralm. Along the way, striking peaks await, such as the Rosskopf (1,731 m), the Feldalphorn (1,923 m), and the Schwaigberghorn (1,990 m). The trail leads across alpine meadows and mountain trails—a worthwhile tour for sure-footed hikers with a sense of view and nature.

For the first time this year, two trail running routes are being offered: the 20-kilometer "Power Tour" starts at the mountain station, while the 30-kilometer "Uphill Tour" begins in the valley in Niederau. Both routes lead across the Wildschönau ridge and are aimed at experienced runners who enjoy challenging themselves to the highest levels. Registration for the Höhenweg Trophy is open for both individuals and teams of three people.

The following early bird prices apply until September 30, 2025:

• Individual hikers and trail runners: € 38.00 per person
• Teams of 3: € 90.00 per team
• After September 30th, prices will increase by €10.00:
• Individual hikers and trail runners: € 48.00 per person
• Teams of 3: €100.00 per team
• Hikers aged 12 and over and trail runners aged 18 and over are eligible to participate.

All participants will receive an attractive participant package, which includes, among other things, a small snack at the start (fruit and muesli bars), the ascent with the Markbachjochbahn cable car, a high-quality thermos flask, luggage transport to the Schönangeralm, and the return journey by bus from the finish to the starting point.

The Höhenweg Trophy in the Wildschönau is a mixture of sporting challenge, impressive nature and good atmosphere – a highlight of the Tyrolean autumn.
