New Construction Of The Loischkopfbahn Bürserberg - Technology Meets Nature Conservation

With the groundbreaking ceremony taking place, a particularly pioneering project will begin in Bürserberg (Vorarlberg): the new construction of the Loischkopfbahn in the Brandnertal – planned as a modern 10-seater gondola lift with year-round use.
The wait is finally over: construction of the new Loischkopfbahn cable car in Bürserberg has begun.
- The new 10-seater gondola lift will replace the Einhornbahn II and Loischkopfbahn chairlifts and will run from Tschengla to Loischkopf.
- In addition, a new, central access point to the ski, hiking and biking area with the necessary infrastructure will be built in the area of the valley station.
The existing infrastructure, including the Einhornbahn II and the Loischkopfbahn, will be replaced by a state-of-the-art 10-passenger gondola lift. This pioneering project represents a significant step in the further development of our summer and winter offerings – for greater comfort, shorter waiting times, and unforgettable mountain experiences for the whole family. With state-of-the-art 10-person gondolas, the facility not only offers a safe and comfortable ride, but also allows for the convenient transport of bikes, sports equipment, strollers, and other items. The modern infrastructure will also significantly improve the quality of the entire skiing, hiking, and biking area.
"The new Loischkopf cable car is an important future project for us. We see it as a great opportunity for the high-quality, sustainable, and, above all, year-round development of the Brandnertal region as a popular leisure and vacation destination in both summer and winter." said Michael Domig, Managing Director of Bergbahnen Brandnertal GmbH
As a technical planning office, Melzer & Hopfner accompanies the Brandnertal cable cars from the initial idea to implementation:
- Variant study & cable car route planning
- Structural engineering planning for valley, middle and mountain stations
- Tenders & award management
- Coordination with authorities with a focus on nature conservation
- Construction management & project coordination
The new cable car combines maximum ride comfort with technical innovation: spacious cabins with barrier-free access, an optimized guidance system, and modern station buildings featuring high-quality wood and glass architecture create an all-round improved user experience. The valley, middle, and mountain stations will be rebuilt and will serve as central entry points to the extensive recreational area. Commissioning is planned for December 2025.
