Maria Krafft Helgesson Appointed Acting Chairman Of The Swedish Ski Association

Due to the announcement that Anders Furbeck, for personal reasons, is resigning as union chairman with immediate effect, the board has decided to appoint Maria Kraft Helgesson as acting union chairman.

The Swedish Ski Association's board decided at a statutory meeting on May 23, 2025 to appoint the association's board member Maria Krafft Helgesson as acting chairman of the association after Anders Furbeck, who has chosen to resign from the position with immediate effect, for personal reasons.

The Swedish Ski Association's new acting chairman, Maria Krafft Helgesson, has extensive experience in leadership in Swedish sports, including as chairman of the Swedish Orienteering Association. She has worked with governance, strategy and association development for several years - both nationally and internationally.

"I feel honored to be entrusted with leading the Swedish Ski Association until the next association meeting. It is an important assignment that I take on with great respect for both the organization and the active members. My focus will be to make the transition that the members clearly desire while at the same time ensuring continuity on the board.
