Soberski Launches, Making Skiing A Tonic Without The Gin

There’s nothing quite like standing on the top of a mountain, looking out over the vast expanse of snow where limitless adventures lie.

Better still, with a clear and sober mind, as you detox from intoxicating stresses and substances for a week of optimum nutrition, unparalleled comfort and of course, unlimited alpine exploration.

Beyond just a break from home habits, give your mind, body and soul a hard reset with week of ultimate self care, that will leave you feeling better than when you arrived.

Soberski was founded by Ben, an ex-seasonnaire, who discovered a love for skiing at the age of 21. After diving straight into a ski season with no experience and becoming immersed in the typical antics of the “work hard, play hard” lifestyle, it left him wondering if there was another way to do it.

As the next few years went by when returning as a digital nomad, the thought of entering into a 3-month binge each winter became less and less appealing, in fact, impossible to justify.

Enter soberski, the answer to those craving an alpine adventure holiday, without the excessive drinking and pressures of over-indulging.

For the holiday makers, this is a chance for a detox week like you’ve never had before. Centred around squeezing the most out of the slopes, you will receive daily bespoke itineraries from skiers that have travelled the entire resort for years, delight in nourishing mountain cuisine throughout, have access to daily yoga and the ultimate wellness facilities within your chalet.

This is an opportunity for new and familiar groups and individuals alike to share great skiing adventures and take a breather with people on a similar, sober wavelength.

For the rest of you, we’re building a year-round community to encourage sobriety and wellness on and off the slopes. We’ve created a sober starter park to help get you started, and will hold regular pre-ski events like Padel Tournaments & Run Clubs to get people together ahead of upcoming trips.

If you’re struggling to break the cycle of excess in whatever way that may be, soberski is created with the purpose of being your one-stop-shop for sobriety and hope.

There’s no clearer way to envisage the sheer scale of the world available to you once you’re looking over endless mountain vistas, and it’s that precise moment that we’re striving to keep at the forefront of your mind throughout each and every season, whether you’re clipped into skis or not.

The French resort of Méribel, not known for the sobriety of its visitors, is where the new company Soberski will be offering alcohol-free ski weeks this winter.  ‘The Alps in winter are intoxicating enough without a spike of overpriced alcohol,’ says Soberski’s founder Ben Coombes. The new offer of hangover-free skiing chimes with the gen Z vibe and the increasing popularity of dry-January culture. Soberski launches in January 2026 and is taking bookings from July 2025 - visit www.soberski.co.uk to send an enquiry, or call Ben direct on +44 7907 572 595 to discuss requirements in detail.

‘It’s not about deprivation,’ Coombes explains, ‘but making the most of the week.’ With 600km of piste to explore across the Three Valleys it helps to start the day clear-headed, and there are cost savings plus a reduced risk of injury. Yoga, meditation and breathing workshops will be part of the daily routine, in a proactive approach to wellbeing. Soberski is more than a holiday, it’s a reset. Join like-minded mountain-lovers for world-class skiing, personal growth and healthy habits to take away.
