Heidi Launches Summer Mountain Holidays

The “coolcation” trend of choosing milder holiday destinations looks set to continue this summer, after first gaining momentum in 2024 following record-breaking high temperatures across popular Mediterranean hot spots.
According to the European Travel Commission’s “Monitoring Sentiment for Intra-European Travel" 2025 Report, 15% of travellers are now actively seeking out milder climates, and 14% are avoiding destinations with extreme heat.
Cue the summer mountain holiday…
Heidi has expanded its super-flexible ski holiday package approach to summer mountain holidays. The development comes after rising demand from happy customers wanting to also book their summer breaks with the company, which has an ‘Excellent’ rating on Trustpilot. Indeed, in a survey of 900 UK skiers conducted on behalf of Heidi, 50% chose ‘summer mountain holidays’ when asked: ‘what type of holiday are you planning to book - or have booked - in the next 12 months?’ *
As well as ski holidays, Heidi customers can now choose from summer holidays in over 20 mountain resorts across Austria, Slovenia, Poland, Italy and France - with plans to add more destinations. Since the soft launch, the most-booked summer spots so far are resorts in Austria, followed by Chamonix and Morzine in France, and the Italian Dolomites.
Marcus Blunt, Co-Founder of Heidi, comments: “We genuinely believe people are happier and healthier from spending time in the mountains, come winter or summer. While mountain resorts have cooler temperatures than the most popular hot spots in the Med, they still offer plenty of summer sunshine and swimming opportunities. This makes an alpine break a refreshing alternative, where travellers can enjoy hiking, cycling, kayaking and generally exploring - without the sweltering heat.”
He adds: “An increasing number of our customers were requesting to book summer trips with us. We’re also keen to support the mountain resorts we work with over the summer months. It’s a natural next step for Heidi, and we’re delighted to give more people the freedom to enjoy the mountains at their own pace, all-year round.”

Heidi was launched in 2018, formally known as Ski Zoom. Its millennial founders, Marcus and Alexander Blunt, are half-Norwegian brothers who love the mountains - and were lucky to have snow and skiing as part of their daily life growing up. Heidi was born out of their desire to change the lack of flexibility in the ski holiday market - and enable more people to easily access and enjoy the mountains.
The company’s proprietary travel tech has revolutionised today’s ski holiday market, offering an unprecedented sweet spot between the customisation of a DIY holiday and the convenience and security of an ATOL-protected package. Heidi provides all the elements of a winter sports holiday in one place, plus expert 24/7 customer support.
Heidi has seen exponential growth, with revenue quadrupling in the past two years – from £8.8m in the year to April 2022 to £37m in 2024. It is the UK’s third largest ski holiday operator, carrying over 52,000 passengers in the 2024/2025 season - and has an average ‘Excellent’ rating of 4.7 out of 5 on Trustpilot. Heidi ranked 63rd in the 2024 Sunday Times 100 list of the UK’s fastest-growing private companies, and shortly after secured £5.6 million investment. The company has also been ranked 28th in the 2025 FEBE 100 list of fastest-growing founder-led companies in the UK.
Heidi gives customers the freedom to build their perfect ski break in minutes from thousands of options across 300+ resorts, and add extras like lift passes, lessons and equipment hire to their booking. Whether it’s a family looking for a budget-friendly Feb half term trip, or a group of friends after a quick mid-week getaway with tons of après ski, Heidi also offers a low-deposit booking option and monthly payment plans. Everything is planned and covered by Heidi, so customers can focus on enjoying the freedom of the mountains. As of 2025, this freedom is now extended to flexible summer mountain holidays.
