My Leukerbad AG: Chairman Of The Board Roland Zegg Resigns

After 14 years as a project manager, restructuring expert and Chairman of the Board of Directors, Roland Zegg is ending his involvement in Leukerbad and will step down in October 2025.

Roland Zegg/grischconsulta first drafted a "forward strategy" for the Torrent cable cars in 2011. In 2015, commissioned by the municipality of Leukerbad, he conducted a value-added study to demonstrate the economic impact of a potential closure of the cable cars ("If the Torrent cable cars stop running, the thermal water in Leukerbad will no longer be as warm"). Subsequently, in 2016, the municipality commissioned him to renovate the Torrent cable cars, in which the municipality of Albinen still held a majority stake.

However, Roland Zegg was not satisfied with a mere balance sheet restructuring; he also demanded a fundamental operational restructuring of the cable cars and other major service providers in Leukerbad to achieve sustainable restructuring success. In 2017, My Leukerbad AG was created as a joint operating company for the Torrent cable cars, the Leukerbad thermal baths, the sports arena, the Erli snow park, the management of the Leuk-Leukerbad bus company (LLB), and the cross-municipal tourism organization (DMO).

In 2019, Roland Zegg introduced the idea of the "Leukerbad Master Plan," developed its concept, and initiated significant co-financing by seco. In 2021, the two anchor shareholders, the Leukerbad Residents' and Citizens' Communities, finally elected Roland Zegg as Chairman of the Board of Directors of My Leukerbad AG. Together with the newly elected Board of Directors and the well-established management team, he has resolutely driven the effectiveness and modernization of the young company. The goals of the Master Plan have already been largely achieved.

The newly created model organization, consistently realized synergy potential, the master plan as a binding compass, and its substantial financial support from seco have enabled comprehensive tourism reforms and realignments in a short period of time. The Leukerbad destination has achieved new records in visitor numbers and tourism revenue several times in a row in recent years. My Leukerbad has also become attractive as the largest service provider in the district and as an employer with 140 annual employees and 200 employees during the winter season.
"Roland Zegg has effectively deployed his energy and network for Leukerbad. He has led the company strategically, with commitment, foresight, and entrepreneurial competence," writes My Leukerbad AG.

The successor to the Executive Committee will be evaluated by the anchor shareholders. The Chairman and members of the Board of Directors will be elected for a further four-year term at the Annual General Meeting on October 8, 2025.
