The largest investment made by Forsthofgut to date (over £10million) has created a new waldSPA Seehaus (lakehouse) overlooking the Naturhotel’s chemical-free swimming lake. The building includes a Japanese restaurant with large terrace, and 3 spacious loft suites each with a living area, master bedroom and master bathroom, sauna and loggia on the upper floor. The lakehouse spa’s facilities include 3 sizeable treatment rooms, a relaxation room, an Onsen pool (42°c) and traditional Onsen washroom. The lake has been enlarged to add an infinity pool and floating Finnish lake sauna. Open year-round, the overall design exploits stunning views of the surrounding mountains.

The new restaurant, Mizūmi, serves Japanese specialities and an exciting range of Japanese dishes with an Alpine twist. Skilled itamae (sushi masters) operate in the central show-kitchen, for all to see.

The new Spa house has freed up space in the original waldSPA, where family facilities have been enhanced to allow couples to relax in a child-free sanctuary while kids play in their zone. Improvements to the waldSPA Family & Kids include a new textile sauna area, a substantial relaxation room, a 21m indoor pool, extensive water play features, and a range of pools and water slides for all ages.

For skiers, Forsthofgut’s location at the foot of the slopes is hard to beat. A piste runs past the door and the Asitz lift is just 200m for fast and easy access to 408km of world-class piste skiing and plentiful off-piste.

The Skicircus area shared by Leogang, Saalbach, Hinterglemm and Fieberbrunn comprises 270km of piste, with easy connections to 138km of piste at Zell am See-Kaprun, where the Kitzsteinhorn Glacier offers high-altitude skiing from October to May. The state-of-the-art lift and piste network comes with a wide choice of mountain dining in cosy huts and gourmet restaurants.

The Naturhotel Forsthofgut’s location is equally attractive to non-skiers, who can explore on wonderful snowshoe and winter hiking trails, toboggan runs and sleigh rides.
