Maloja Outfits German National Ski Mountaineering Team For Sixth Year

For the sixth consecutive year, Maloja has been tapped by the German National Ski Mountaineering Race Team to design their race suits. Each year, Maloja works hand in hand with the team to develop suits and training gear specifically designed to meet the high demands of ski mountaineering races and the technical specifications of the International Ski Mountaineering Federation (ISMF).

The active designs feature a full range of movement using four-way stretch, wind blocking fabrics and wicking materials. The suits also have special features including reinforced shoulders, inner stretch pockets for storing avalanche beacons and keeping skins warm as well as ergonomic hoods with integrated face masks. Functionality is central to the design of the race suit every year, which is constantly being adapted and optimized by changes in the regulations, as well as new materials and experiences of the athletes.

The German squad features six athletes including Tessa Wötzel, Susi Von Borstel, Sepp Huber, Toni Palzer, Toni Lautenbacher and Stefan Knopf. They are supported by coaches and trainers. The German team races all over Europe in ISMF sanctioned events including the World Cup and European Race Series. Pending qualification, athletes will race at the ISMF Championships in Lake Louise, Alberta, Canada on March 23
