San Diego-based sports performance brand 100% announces a new snow athlete partnership with the addition of freeskiing and pipe superstar, Nico Porteous. Porteous, 20, joins an impressive global roster of 100% winter athletes — including Zoi Sadowski-Synnott, Laurie Blouin, Dusty Henricksen, Richard Permin, and Malou Peterson.
At age 14, Porteous was the youngest skier to ever land a triple cork. By 20, Nico was an Olympic Champion. For most athletes, being named “Champion” of their respective sport is the highest peak they can attain, but Nico is just getting started.
Part of Porteous’ success is his ability to overcome adversity. While working on his triple cork, which took nearly two years to perfect, Nico persevered through injuries and doubt, determined to create his own destiny and cement his legacy. His passion and commitment to his craft align directly with the core mantra of 100%, which asks us all a simple question: “How much effort do you give?”
“Nico is exactly the type of person and athlete we look to align with at 100%” says 100% VP of Global Marketing and Sales, Gwen van Lingen. “It is rare to find an athlete so accomplished and thoughtful about his process and progression. His talents transcend beyond his skiing, as he also has an acute eye for design, creativity, and style. Nico’s maturity-level is well beyond his age.”
This Fall, 100% will unveil their long-awaited Snow goggle launch with Porteous’ expertise being utilized to help craft a premium performance product collection in Snow. “Part of what excites me the most about partnering with 100% is that their journey in sport aligns with mine,” Porteous says. “I see a huge opportunity for myself and 100% to grow together, and I am so stoked on the opportunity to express my personal style and creativity, on and off the mountain with this mutual partnership.”
