Leki Partners With Discrete Cirque Series Trail Races
Leki, a leader in skiing, trekking and trail running poles, announces its sponsorship of the Discrete Cirque Series, the premiere short-distance, max-elevation trail running series in North America. The Discrete Cirque Series features races for both the serious mountain athlete as well as the weekend warrior looking for an event between the 10K and ultra distances.
Five events are scheduled at U.S. ski resorts this summer: three in Utah and one each in Colorado and Alaska. All participants run the same course, with three division choices: Pro, Expert and Sport, with cash and/or equipment prizes awarded to the top finishers in each division. On race day, Discrete will host music, food, drinks, a vendor expo, and entertainment at the race village for brands and athletes to connect in a fun, festive atmosphere.
As participation in trail running increases, Leki continues to step up their focus on the category and now has five poles specifically for trail running in the 2017 spring line. Each model provides unique benefits for various distances and terrains.
“We’re excited to be a part of the Discrete Cirque Series which is the perfect blend of competition and fun, taking place at some of the premier ski resorts in the nation,” says Greg Wozer, VP of Leki USA. “This partnership gives Leki a great opportunity to connect with these athletes and help them get to the finish line.”
“Leki is a perfect fit for the Cirque Series, as our races take place in high mountain valleys and steep mountain peaks with exposure to a lot of uphill & downhill traffic,” said Julian Carr, Discrete Cirque Series Founder and Race Director. “Having alignment with a quality brand like Leki is critical to the formula to the Cirque Series success.”
