With the heat of summer upon us, planning for the coming winter ski season is well underway. Telluride is set to add another major hub to its network with service on American Airlines from Charlotte (CLT) to Montrose-Telluride Regional Airport (MTJ), flying Saturdays through the winter season.
The Charlotte flight will run from December 16, 2017 – March 31, 2018. The new flight brings the total number of nonstop routes to 11 this winter season for the two airports serving the destination, Telluride (TEX) & Montrose-Telluride (MTJ).
“With the Charlotte addition, Telluride continues to increase the number of options for guests flying to Telluride,” said Colorado Flights COO Matt Skinner. “Our growing network offers destination visitors, residents and businesses alike the option to easily travel into and out of western Colorado to hubs nationwide and beyond.”
Charlotte was a key hub in the US Airways system prior to its merger with American Airlines, and provides excellent connectivity up and down the eastern seaboard and internationally in the expanded network.
Montrose-Telluride continues to take major steps forward with American Airlines, having grown service with the airline by more than five-times over the past several years, increasing from approximately 11,000 to 57,000 round-trip seats, including:
- Daily, year-round flights from Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW) with twice-daily flights during the winter
- Daily, seasonal flights from Phoenix Sky Harbor (PHX)
- Additional seasonal flights from Los Angeles (LAX), Chicago O'Hare (ORD) and now Charlotte (CLT)
"We're proud to offer this new service to Telluride," said Marius Jasevicius, Manager – American Airlines Network Planning. "Customers from around the world will now have access to Telluride from our second largest hub."
Colorado Flights provides service from Dallas (DFW), Houston (IAH), Chicago (ORD), Phoenix (PHX), Newark (EWR), LaGuardia (LGA), Atlanta (ATL), Los Angeles (LAX), San Francisco (SFO) and Charlotte (CLT), along with Denver (DEN) service, giving the Telluride (TEX) & Montrose-Telluride (MTJ) airports 15 nonstop flights from 11 major hubs for winter 2017-18.
