Vail Resorts’ Vermont & New York Ski Areas Now Open For Winter Season

A combination of superlative snowmaking technology and a dedicated operations staff, allow for Vail Resorts’ Vermont and New York ski areas to open for the 2020/2021 ski and snowboard season. Stowe, Okemo and Mount Snow in Vermont, as well as Hunter Mountain in New York opened today with exclusive early season access for Epic Pass holders through December 7, 2020.

Vail Resorts’ 34 properties across North America are committed to keeping guests safe and providing them with great skiing and riding more than ever this winter season as they deliver on the Experience of a Lifetime. In addition to following all local regulations and complying with state guidance, some core ways the resorts are working to keep guests safe this winter include:

  • Face Coverings: All guests and staff are required to wear a face covering in all aspects of the operation, including while in lift lines, while riding lifts and gondolas and in all lodges and facilities.

  • Reservations: Reservations are required for all guests, passholders included. This will allow resorts to manage access and allow for physical distancing.

  • Re-Imagined Mountain Experience: New operating procedures are in place across each resort, including lift and gondola loading, in Ski School, food and beverage and rental locations.

  • Cashless Transactions: All transactions will be cashless for the coming season. For the most seamless experience, book and pay online in advance.

  • Follow State Guidelines: Know before you go: all guests are expected to follow state guidelines: Vermont State Guidelines, New York guidelines.
