Bogus Basin To Open Terrain Park On Weekends Thanks To Snowmaking.

Are you ready to dust off your skis or snowboard for the 2019-20 winter season? Bogus Basin has good news. The nonprofit recreation area announced today that it will open a

terrain park for beginner to advanced freestyle skiers and snowboarders this Friday, November 8th. The terrain  park, located next to the bottom of the Deerpoint Express chairlift terminal, will be accessed by the ExplorerSurface Lift and offer a series of features for skiers and riders.

Bogus Basin has operated a pre-season terrain park for the last three years, but this is the earliest opening date. The snow in the terrain park is up to two feet deep, and was made with the area’s new snowmaking system. “The fact that we are Idaho’s first ski area to open terrain shows what a difference that snowmaking will make at Bogus Basin,” said General Manager Brad Wilson. “We’re very excited to have a head start on winter activities on the mountain.

The terrain park will open on Friday, November 8th. Hours of operation for the Explorer Surface Lift will be Fridays through Sundays from 10:00am to 4:30pm. Simplot Lodge will be open with limited grab and go food and beverage items available for purchase.

Tickets to access the terrain park are free on November 8th only, and after that the cost will be $15 plus tax for all ages. There is no cost for season pass holders to access the terrain park. Season passes are not available for pickup up on the mountain, and must be picked up at the downtown sales office, located at 2600 Bogus Basin Road. The office is currently open from 9:00am to 5:00pm Wednesdays through Sundays.
