Black Diamond Equipment, a global innovator in climbing, skiing and mountain sports equipment, announces its new performance footwear collection debuting at Outdoor Retailer Summer Market, June 18-20, in Denver.
“Black Diamond’s spring’20 performance footwear collection is an obvious extension of our climbing shoe line,” states Derek Gustafson, Black Diamond Equipment’s footwear category director. “With every new product that we bring to the market, our intention is to make it better. For performance footwear, specifically technical and lifestyle categories, we feel there is a hole in the market and an opportunity for new technology.”
Black Diamond’s new footwear lineup consists of technical performance and performance lifestyle models that offer a precision edging, compression fit, unparalleled comfort and innovative style. Three purpose-built lasts are incorporated across the collection with feature sets engineered for speed approaches, climbing and gym sessions. Models include:
- Circuit – Collapsible heel for easy use at gym or crag, Black Diamond BlackLabel-Street Rubber, breathable knit upper and webbing loops for various tagging options.
- Session – Stretch-fit heel for ultra comfort and easy on/off, Black Diamond BlackLabel-Street Rubber, breathable knit upper and rubber toe protection.
- Technician – Precision-fit, breathable, durable knit upper and super sticky Black Diamond BlackLabel-Mountain Rubber.
- Mission LT – Lightweight, breathable, durable knit upper, all day comfort and super sticky Black Diamond BlackLabel-Mountain Rubber.
Differentiated by its own Black Diamond BlackLabel-Street rubber and Black Diamond BlackLabel-Mountain rubber, Black Diamond’s performance lifestyle models will be engineered for comfort while its technical performance models focus on performance.
“We incorporate several purpose-built lasts that span over this introductory collection,” states Dan Rowe, Black Diamond Equipment’s senior footwear designer. “Whether you are on a smash-and-grab ascent of the Grand Teton, scrambling 5.5 moves on a Flatiron before work, or stepping from a bouldering session at your local gym to the coffee shop or bar, we are launching four models for both men and women each designed with a specific end-use in mind.”
Black Diamond Equipment’s spring 2020 collection, along with the launch of its new performance footwear line, will be on display at booth #37055-UL at Outdoor Retailer Summer Market, June 18-20, in Denver, Colorado, and at booth #A6-430 in Munich, Germany, at OutDoor by ISPO, June 30-July 3, 2019.
